FAQ
1. What exactly does 'oh hert' do?
'Oh hert' is my side business as a frontend developer. I build user-friendly, accessible, and pixel-semiperfect websites. No unnecessary frills, just clean, clear, and functional design.
2. How do you pronounce ‘oh hert’?
Exactly as you’d expect: oh hert, like "Oh, a deer!" No complicated pronunciation, just good old Flemish simplicity.
3. Why no social media?
Because I don’t want my brain to melt from endless timelines. Less doomscrolling, more focus on things that actually matter.
4. Why do you avoid ‘-’ in texts?
Because it annoys me. These days, ‘-’ is probably typed by some AI. Sorry to copywriters who use it correctly, but for me, it's become a red flag.
5. Why ‘KZEN KALM’ as a brand name for your merch?
Because I always say it when I’m not calm. Irony. Get it? Hard concept, I know.
6. Can I get a custom-made website from you?
Yes! I focus on functional websites with great templating and strong accessibility. Hire me and invest in the small details. Give me the time to make even the tiniest things fun. It'll be amazing and next-level. Even for visually impaired users!
Large corporate projects with bloated web apps and endless meetings? Count me out.
7. Do you work with WordPress?
Nope.
Preferably: 1. Kirby CMS, 2. Laravel, or 3. A custom-built solution.
8. How can I contact you?
Email is best. No DMs, no carrier pigeons, just a proper email. Keep it short and to the point, but clear. If possible. Thanks. And see you soon!
9. Do you use AI tools?
Yes, they help me speed up repetitive tasks. That way, I have more time to make ridiculous pages like this one. Fun, right? Yeeees!
10. Can I read reviews about your work somewhere?
Yes, from my clients. Or just ask them directly, it works better than stars on a website.
Maybe I'll add real reviews here one day. But let’s be honest, would you really believe them? Like you’d actually trust me saying all my clients are super happy!
11. Do you also design logos and branding?
I do it for my own projects, but not as a standalone service. A good logo and branding require much more than just "make something cool in Photoshop."
I can try, sure. But don’t always expect a masterpiece.
12. Do you offer discounts?
No, unless you ask to pay extra. Then I’d be happy to create an exclusive premium edition for you.
13. What’s your favorite frontend framework?
Just plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript if possible. If a project requires it, I’ll happily adapt to your favorite (JS) framework. But ideally, just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript!
14. Why don't you drink coffee?
Because I don't really like it. Simple as that. I do drink Qallo, which contains natural caffeine. (Not a sponsor)
15. What if I need a super urgent website?
If your deadline was yesterday, that's usually a red flag. But if it's really important, I can see what's possible.
16. Can I collaborate with you?
Maybe! Send a message with a clear question and we'll see if it clicks. No vague “I have an idea” emails without details. Then we'll see if we're a match.
17. Do you work for large companies?
No. I prefer working with small, independent entrepreneurs and creative projects in my side business. Large companies often have a lot of bureaucracy, meetings, and processes that I prefer to avoid. I already deal with that in my main job.
18. Can I hire you for maintenance on an existing website?
Depends on how the website is built. If it's a mess with spaghetti code, then I'd rather not. But if it's well-structured, we can talk.
19. How do I pay for your services?
Via invoice, as it should be. No ‘exposure’, no promises of ‘future collaborations’. Just a fair price for good work.
20. What if I have another question?
Send me an email, and if it's a good question, it might end up on this list. 🦌
